Divide and Conquer I You know you’re right, Say I’m wrong Since COVID began, sing the same old song. II You talk about truth, Full of Lies Facts and science in front of your eyes. Chorus Divide and Conquer, Tear us apart The Powers that Be, It’s their special art. It’s (their) propaganda, Peddled as news It’s (Your) time to wake up, pick a side and choose. III Fear as a tool, Fogs your brain. Begin pushing back, Get off that train. ©EverysongYeah 2020

Verse I You’re a national disgrace A fucking public shame Trashing all your rivals Can’t ever shoulder blame Verse II Talk about corruption Should be your middle name Bait and switch the shell game It’s how you set your frame Chorus Deny global warming Call it just a hoax You’re a pox on the planet Tides are rising at the coasts Greatness offered suckers No lightning in that jar History will show us Exactly who you are Verse III Tiny hands and fingers Grabbing all you can All your daddy’s money Won’t float another sham Verse IV Some see through illusion Your divisive world of hate Fake news is your mantra You deserved a Watergate

Walking Down the Road Verse 1 Walking down the road alone, I saw a country lost at home A mission of hope carried me forth, I lived each day for all it was worth A president came while I was away, I planned to counter him every day Hate and division won’t carry us forth, come together and be a force Chorus: I wish I had just one more day, I know I had so much more to say. I love my dad, I love my mom. I’ll miss my friends forever yon Verse 2 My family back home sent me their love, I wished I got back to give them a hug We all know what we think we know, but can we strive for a greater hope Friends I lost along the way, but still I walked another day Saving earth was what it’s about, some of the haters would jump and shout Chorus: I wish I had just one more day, I know I had so much more to say. I love my dad, I love my mom. I’ll miss my friends forever yon Verse 3 One hundred days of joy and pain, my feet moved ‘cross the fruited plain A dirty hippy or something more, why can’t they see my higher road My face and words live on today, I often wonder what people say I gave it all held nothing back, but in the end was it done in vain Chorus: I wish I had just one more day, I know I had so much more to say. I love my dad, I love my mom. I’ll miss my friends forever yon [Instrumental break] Verse 4 Walking down the road alone, I saw a country lost at home A mission of hope carried me forth, I lived each day for all it was worth My family back home sent me their love, I wish I got back to give them a hug We all know what we know, but can we strive for a greater scope Chorus: If I had just one more day, I often wonder what I’d say It hurts my dad, it hurts my mom. Please remember them from where you roam I wish I had just one more day, I know I had so much more to say. I love my dad, I love my mom. I’ll miss my friends forever yon [Fade]

about

Two release in January. I guess I'm on a roll of sorts.

It’s hard to believe you can record tracks on a smartphone and mix it down and come up with a credible sound. Hail, hail technology masters!

In the midst of tragedy, artists are born—or maybe, they discover the spark that’s always been there. Perhaps, without music, they wouldn’t remain here.

A global pandemic might seem the wrong time for a self-taught guitar player to start papering Bandcamp with recordings. Desperate times…right?

These songs all are relevant to me--I'd like to think they might be for someone else out there. Does the whole world love being locked down and kept frightened out of their minds? Apparently some are quite content shivering like a scared dog in the corner.

For me, writing songs and putting them out somewhere is an act of both survival and defiance. It’s my middle finger to all those people who’ve gone on with their lives while I haven’t been able to. It’s a great big f-you to the TPTB. But neither of them are apt to hear it or are capable of “getting it.”

Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices is an influence. He’s prolific beyond belief. And much of his early work with Guided by Voices was ignored. Yet, he’s now recognized in indie circles and the world of rock critics as a genius of sorts.

As a writer, I recognized that “shipping” was important. This seems to be a direction I want to pursue with writing and recording my music, whether or not anyone else finds it worth consuming.

I like the idea of coming up with four live tracks each month in 2021. We’ll see what happens. I already have two new songs I’ve written in the past few weeks for February’s Bunker Rock four-pack.

Oh…the four pack…it’s a craft beer thing—at least here in the Northeast. Breweries like to package their beer in four-bangers. I like the concept. Plus, to my liking, beer and lo-fi furnace rock seem to go hand-in-hand.

To the bunkers!!
